I sat down to read my devotionals today (I always do more than one a day) and I had decided to add a new one to my ever-growing collection.
On a side note, my husband and I had just finished a discussion this morning on faith, fear and flakiness (and that’s for another blog, another time!) so I was really excited to jump into a devotional all about faith!
I flipped the page and began reading and this scripture, 1 Peter 1:3, just “got” me! Now, I read this scripture in my favorite version of the Bible, the NLT, and it didn’t use the word that the KJV uses, so I pulled out my KJV and lo and behold, it “got” me again!
The word? Begotten…
Are you begotten today?
Maybe you don’t know what that means. I’ll be honest, I thought I did, but I looked it up anyway! Really glad I did!
Here is the Merriam-Webster definition of the word “beget”, which ultimately leads us to the greater word “begotten”:
To CAUSE something to happen or exist
To PRODUCE especially as an effect or outgrowth
Wow! I don’t know about you but something within me rejoiced!
I am a begotten of the Father!
I exist because of Him!
And because He has given me FAITH, I shall BEGET what I have been believing for, praying for and trusting for! My faith will cause something to happen or exist!
My faith will produce an effect or outgrowth of miracles, signs and wonders, for those things FOLLOW them that believe!
I don’t know about you but I wanted to shout today!
You are “begotten” by Him!
I love this!
And I love you!
Be blessed today my friend! Walk in faith, the LIVING power! And now that what you’ve been believing for, praying for or having FAITH for will happen!
